Robin was a student of class five. He was very naughty, but also clever.
One day after school, he went for a walk with his friends. They reached the edge of the village, where there was a large litchi orchard owned by Babu Saheb.
As soon as Robin saw the litchi trees, his eyes lit up. The juicy litchis were hanging all over the branches!
He said,
— “Come on, let’s steal some litchis! No one will catch us!”
His friends got scared and said,
— “No, Robin! This isn’t right. Stealing is a sin!”
But Robin didn’t listen. He quickly ran and climbed one of the trees.
Just as he grabbed a branch to swing, it broke!
He fell straight to the ground—right in front of the gardener!
The gardener had been hiding and keeping watch. He grabbed Robin and gave him a few strong beatings.
Robin cried out in pain.
But the trouble didn’t end there!
Hearing the noise, a big guard dog from the house came running toward him.
Robin somehow stood up and ran as fast as he could.
He jumped over the wall and landed in someone’s yard—right in front of an old grandmother.
The old woman was surprised and said,
— “What happened, child? Are ghosts chasing you?”
Panting and scared, Robin replied,
— “No grandma, I made a big mistake… I’ll never do it again!”
From that day on, Robin changed. He understood well:
Stealing brings not joy, but danger.
Moral of the story:
To get something good, we must follow the honest path.
If we steal from others, we will surely get caught one day.
Fear and shame come only when we do the wrong thing. A peaceful life comes from doing what is right.
