Two cattle traders were found unconscious in Tejgaon, the capital of Bangladesh, and it has been alleged that 2.5 million taka they had with them was looted. Both have been admitted to the hospital in critical condition.
The incident occurred around 12:30 AM on Thursday night, near the Tibet-Nabisco area of Tejgaon. The injured are Md. Hasan (50) and Anwar Hossain (51). Hasan is currently receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), while Anwar Hossain has been admitted to a private hospital.
According to reports, Md. Hasan and Anwar Hossain came from the Chargawaiya area of Bakshiganj Upazila in Jamalpur district with 28 cows to sell at the Tibet intersection cattle market. After bringing the cows on Wednesday, 27 were sold by Thursday night. They had kept the 2.5 million taka from the sales with them.
Around 12:30 AM, they left the market area to look for food. When they did not return for a long time, other traders started searching nearby. Eventually, Hasan and Anwar were found lying unconscious on the roadside. They were quickly rescued and taken—Hasan to DMCH and Anwar to a local private hospital.
Inspector Md. Faruk, in charge of the DMCH police camp, confirmed that Hasan is under treatment in the medicine department and that Anwar has been admitted to another private hospital. He also confirmed that the incident has been reported to Tejgaon Police Station.
